How to learn from the
Jillian-Michaels-Lawsuit
According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control dietary supplement is "worthless."Is this going to be yet another case of a high profile celeb selling out for big money like Dr. Phil*? I'll admit I think she plays it on a little thick when she tries to take on the roll of psychologist on the Biggest Loser. Perhaps she learned her counseling trick from the popular TV doc too. I hope she can take some of her own advice she shells out on the BL show and stop promoting quick fixes. It would be a shame to see a trusted trainer go this way.
*[Sidebar:] Dr. Phil got sucked into a Magic Pill Marketing Scheme that, well... frankly is just plain stupid! It's getting really "old!" I don't want to have to add them both to my nutrition quack list now do I ?? BTW, one look at the TV doc should tell you how those majic pills really work.
Who's on my nutrition quack list now?
Perhaps Jillian-Michaels should take my nutrition quiz
Here's a summary of what the Jillian-Michaels-lawsuit suggests:
The suit alleges, "Sadly, Michaels has decided to exploit her fame and goodwill by collaborating with Thin Care and Basic Research to promote a weight-loss supplement that purportedly will cause weight loss by itself, without any additional effort on the part of the consumer." The suit asks for an injunction prohibiting the sale of the product, plus damages. What's Jillian got to say?: Her company released the following statement: "Unfortunately, anyone can file a lawsuit in California. All it takes is a $355 filing fee. That research was reviewed by some of the leading weight-loss experts in the world before Jillian would put her name on the product. The lawsuit will be handled in the courts like all other lawsuits, and we are confident we will prevail." I'll be keeping you posted on this story but please chime in here if you have something to say... Any more comments from Jillian or her supporters? Post them here:
